What Makes the AIX7241 Different

Security Construction & Burglary Protection
The AIX7241 body is 10-gauge steel, heavier than the 12- and 14-gauge bodies common on entry-level gun safes. The door is a formed composite with a quarter-inch solid steel plate covering the full front face. Rhino's SafeX system interlocks the door into the body instead of throwing traditional bolts, which removes the pry points a bolt-and-bar design creates. A ball bearing drill plate, a spring-loaded relocker, and a clutched handle protect the lock area.
Learn MoreCertified Fire Protection & What It Means
The AIX7241 is rated for 120 minutes at 1400 degrees. Fire lining runs the full coverage of the door frame, and a heat-activated Palusol seal expands to about eight times its size to block smoke and heat at the door gap. Fire ratings come from controlled testing, not from real fires, so read the number as a time margin. Where the safe sits in your home and how fast the fire department reaches you both change the outcome.
