Choose this model if:

Choose this if you want the heaviest body Rhino makes and you have a ground-floor location that can take the weight. It also makes sense if your collection includes items that would be difficult to replace and you would rather stop second-guessing the container. The hand-antiqued finish is the reason to pick Ironworks over the standard line, since protection specifications are identical between the two.

Best For:

You are protecting a collection that has grown past the point where a mid-tier body feels adequate, and you would rather not revisit the decision. You have a ground-floor location in mind, or you are willing to plan around the weight. You care about how the safe looks in the room, because it will be visible rather than hidden in a basement.

Not Ideal For:

This is more safe than you need if you are storing a handful of firearms and some documents. It is also wrong if your only location is above the ground floor without a structural assessment. What Makes the TGIX Different

You can specify a UL listed mechanical lock or a UL listed electronic lock, and the body carries a UL Certified RSC rating. A ball bearing drill plate sits over the lock, which spins under a drill bit instead of allowing a clean bite. Behind that, a spring-loaded relocker fires if the lock is punched or forced, deadbolting the mechanism independently. The gear-driven F-4 anti-tamper clutched handle spins free under force rather than transmitting it to the boltwork.
The body is 7 gauge steel, roughly three sixteenths of an inch, which is the heaviest gauge Rhino builds. Remember that gauge numbers run backward: a lower number means thicker steel, so 7 gauge is substantially heavier than the 12 gauge used at the mid tier. Thicker steel takes longer to cut and resists deformation when someone works at a corner with a pry bar. A full coverage fire lining runs through the door frame as well as the body.
The patented SafeX system replaces conventional boltwork with Grade 8 anchor studs mounted in the outer door frame. When the door closes, those studs pass into the door, and a steel plate inside the door slides behind the rim of each stud. The result is a door that is mechanically interlocked with the frame rather than held by bolts alone. In practice this changes what a pry attack has to overcome, because prying the door edge pulls against the frame itself.
