The Rhino Longhorn LGX4224W brings useful equipment into a 42-inch home-safe body: an adjustable Rhino Vector interior, a door organizer, motion-activated three-wand LED lighting and an internal outlet with USB ports. A 14 gauge steel body and patented SafeX door-to-body interlock provide theft deterrence, while the manufacturer publishes 60 minutes of fire protection at 1,400°F. Finished in gloss white with a heather interior, it suits important papers, handguns and smaller valuables. Long guns do not fit this model.

Who This Safe Is Best For — and When to Consider More

Choose this model if:

Choose the LGX4224W if you want organized storage for documents, handguns and smaller valuables, with factory lighting and internal power already included. Its 42-inch height and gloss white finish suit a planned home-office or bedroom location.

Best For:

Homeowners who want a compact safe with useful interior equipment, a one-hour manufacturer fire rating and an electronic lock. Confirm the fit of any specific document box or valuable before ordering.

Not Ideal For:

Choose a full-height gun safe such as the Rhino Falcon or Kodiak KBX for long guns. If a UL RSC body listing is a requirement, consider the Kodiak KSXR or KGXR. The Falcon is an alternative for buyers seeking a USA-built safe with global components. An insurance requirement for a TL rating calls for a separately certified TL-rated product.

What Makes the LGX4224W Different

A UL listed electronic lock provides keypad access. A hardened armor plate and spring-loaded relocker protect the lock, and an anti-tamper clutched handle resists forced torque. The lock listing is separate from a safe-body certification.
14 gauge steel construction with the patented SafeX system, which interlocks the door and body to resist prying. The manufacturer does not publish a UL RSC body listing for this model.
SafeX uses an anchor-stud interlock instead of conventional boltwork. Motion-activated LED lighting and an internal outlet with USB ports add convenience when organizing and accessing the interior.

Security Construction & Burglary Protection

The LGX4224W combines 14 gauge steel with Rhino’s patented SafeX system, which interlocks the door and body to resist prying. A hardened armor plate and spring-loaded relocker protect the electronic lock, while an anti-tamper clutched handle protects against forced torque. Floor anchoring is an important part of the installation. The electronic lock is UL listed; the safe body does not carry a published UL RSC listing.

Certified Fire Protection & What It Means

Rhino publishes 60 minutes of fire protection at 1,400°F for this model. A heat-activated intumescent door seal expands up to eight times its size to help limit heat and smoke entry. This is the manufacturer’s rating; no independent testing body or fire-test standard is identified in the supplied specifications. It is not a guarantee that every item will survive every fire.

Lock Type & Access Options

The factory-installed UL listed electronic lock provides keypad access without a mechanical dial. No alternative lock is published for this model. Keep the code restricted to authorized users and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for battery changes and lock operation.

Electronic keypad access, motion-activated interior lighting and a 180-degree door opening help keep stored items accessible.

Interior Storage, Shelving & Organization

The Rhino Vector interior includes an adjustable shelf and a door organizer with pockets and hooks. Heather upholstery covers the interior, and three-wand LED lighting activates through an infrared motion sensor. An internal electrical outlet with USB ports provides power for compatible accessories. A dehumidifier is not included. Rhino lists a six-pack of rifle rods with the LGX4224W, but this compact home-safe model does not accommodate long guns. Interior dimensions and cubic capacity are not published, so measure a physical unit when an item must fit precisely.

Installation, Placement & Bolting Down

Plan professional handling for the approximately 271 lb safe. Measure the delivery route, turns and final placement area before scheduling. The published 20-inch depth excludes the handle; allow additional working room and confirm the actual clearance needed. The safe arrives fully assembled and is pre-drilled for floor anchoring. Arrange a suitable power connection near the final location for the interior lighting and outlet.

One of the simplest ways to increase resistance is proper anchoring.

Highlight

Confirm the delivery route, handle clearance, nearby power and floor anchoring before installation.

Is This Protection Level Enough for Your Situation?

Step Up If:Consider another model if you need long-gun storage, a published UL RSC body rating, longer fire duration or a specific insurance-required TL rating. Choose according to the certification and usable space your situation requires.
More Than Needed If:If you only need a small locked container for a few everyday items, without a fire rating, internal lighting or powered storage, a simpler security cabinet may cover the need.
