What Makes the Raptor Series (Ironworks) Different

You can specify a UL listed mechanical dial or a UL listed electronic keypad, and the body carries a U.L. Certified RSC rating. A ball bearing drill plate covers the lock and spins under a drill bit rather than allowing a bite. A spring-loaded relocker deadbolts the mechanism if the lock is punched. The patented F-4 anti-tamper clutched handle disconnects under force, so attacking the handle accomplishes nothing.
The body is 12 gauge steel, which is the mid-tier construction across most of the safe industry. Gauge runs backward, so a 12 gauge body is thinner than the 10 gauge above it and thicker than a 14 gauge entry safe. Full coverage fire lining runs through the door frame as well as the body. The result weighs 624 to 1,103 pounds depending on the model you choose.
SafeX is the reason there is no bolt count to compare. Grade 8 anchor studs sit in the outer door frame and pass into the door as it closes. A steel plate inside the door then slides behind the rim of every stud, tying door and frame together around the perimeter. Will a safe at this level actually stop someone breaking in?
A safe at this level resists the tools and the time an ordinary residential burglary allows, rather than resisting anything indefinitely. The 12 gauge body and the anchor stud interlock create delay, and delay is what ends most attempts. What we see is that anchoring changes the outcome more than any single specification.
How much does the jump from 12 gauge to 11 gauge really matter?
Very little on its own. The difference between 11 and 12 gauge is a few thousandths of an inch, and it will not decide whether a safe holds. We tell cross-shoppers to look at the door-to-frame connection and the fire rating instead. Those change outcomes where a single gauge step generally does not.
Why is there no locking bolt count on this page?
