Clear opening width against the safe's effective width on the dolly. The safe's effective width in transit is larger than its stated face width because the dolly adds projection on one side, and the tilt required to clear the threshold changes the height clearance at the top of the frame. A doorway that appears comfortable for the safe's stated dimensions may not clear the safe-plus-dolly combination.
Hallways and All Turns
What to photograph: every hallway segment at its narrowest point, including trim and baseboards. If the path includes a 90-degree turn from one hallway into another, or from a hallway into a room, photograph the corner itself, including both sides of the turn.
The diagonal check. A safe moving around a 90-degree turn does not clear the corner based on its face width. A safe that is 24 inches wide and 26 inches deep has a diagonal of approximately 35 inches.
