What Makes the BFX Different

Security Construction & Burglary Protection
UL RSC Level 1 means an independent lab tested this safe against a single skilled attacker using common tools for a set amount of time, and the safe held. That's the standard rating most residential gun safes are measured against, and the BFX's four-way boltwork and composite body construction meet it comfortably. It doesn't mean the safe can withstand an unlimited attack. It means a typical burglary attempt, one built around speed rather than specialized tools, is very unlikely to succeed.
Highlight
Certified Fire Protection & What It Means
The BFX carries an ETL-verified 120-minute fire rating at 1200°F, tested by an independent lab rather than claimed by AMSEC alone. That rating comes from the same DryLight composite fill used in AMSEC's vault construction, which forms a continuous barrier around the interior instead of relying on a separate fire layer bolted onto a security shell. Two hours is enough time to matter in most residential fires, where fire departments in developed areas typically respond well within that window. What it can't promise is protection in every scenario, since placement, how long a fire burns before anyone responds, and how close the safe sits to the source all affect real-world performance.
Highlight
Lock Type & Access Options
Day-to-day access runs through an electronic lock, which most households find easier to manage than a mechanical dial. If you'd prefer a mechanical option, AMSEC offers a combination lock with a spy-proof dial as a custom alternative. Either way, the lock only handles daily access. It's the boltwork and body construction behind it that provides the actual protection.
